+
* “Madder than Daffy, dumber than Donald, more existential than Howard!”

Custos' rule in place...updated with added clues and some whole new taglines this time out...what you know, what you guess, what you deduce...some stragglers are still left (surely I'm not the only person to have seen the first one):

* “The mission was a sham. The murders were real.”
CLUE: Streisand's former husband rescues her current husband; the perfect film for anyone who ever thought the moon landings were faked; what do you with living astronauts the public think dead heroes

* “The picture runs 130 minutes!... The story covers 96 of the most critical hours in man's history!... The suspense will last through your lifetime!”
CLUE: Michael Crichton's responsible for this particular strained sci-fi

* “A federal agent is dead. A killer is loose. And the City of Angels is about to explode.”
CLUE: Hurricane Billy Friedkin went from a French Connection to here; William Petersen's obsessive federa agent; Willem Dafoe's sexually ambiguous counterfeiter; spectacular car chase

* “You can't prepare for where the truth will take you.”
CLUE: if you're the writer of the hit flick Se7en, what number do you use in the title for your next (snuff) film, Nic Cage, Joaquin Phoenix follow a trail from James Gandolfini through to video-artist Peter Stormare

* “If Texas coundn't tame 'em ...could she?”
CLUE: John Wayne and Dean Martin as brothers, Henry Hathaway style; not the daughters, but the ... of ...

* ““The Best Movie Ever Made!" - Griffin Mill”
CLUE: this game featured a you-spot-em cameo lineup of just about everyone Robert Altman felt something about; if you're in the game, you're...

* “"All the world likes an outlaw. For some damn reason they remember 'em." - Jesse James”
CLUE: Actor brothers Carradine, Keach, Quaid and Guest played outlaw brothers for Walter Hill's first western

* “What would you have done if you had been given absolute power of life and death over everybody else in the whole world?”
CLUE: Bob Guccione snuck on set at night to film "inserts"; Malcolm McDowell haggled with Peter O'Toole over close-ups; Helen Mirren kissed Teresa Ann Savoy; Tinto Brass objected; the film spent years in litigation; on release, even the stars went on TV denouncing it; the OFLC won't let you see the uncut version :)

* “Seduction. Betrayal. Murder. Who's Conning Who?”
CLUE: John Cusack realizes just how far Mommy Anjelica Huston will go; old-time name for con-artists

* “Harry Angel is searching for the truth... Pray he doesn't find it.”
CLUE: New Orleans and voodoo spiced up Mickey Rourke's film noir / horror; was it heartless?

* And a special TV show tagline (they got 'em too sometimes): “A hell of a place to make your fortune.”
CLUE: what a foul-mouthed western series; fantastic though; not livetimber but...

IT’S BACK: THE TAGLINE DOUBLE FEATURE (bonus point if the both of them are gotten in one go);

* “He's X-Rated and Animated!” (solved)
+
* “Madder than Daffy, dumber than Donald, more existential than Howard!”
CLUE: Bobby London's underground comic's foul fowl made the movies

Yeah, it thought it was being sophisticated.. and shamefully neglected Jacqueline Bisset's character by the end.
