How hard to fix and and how much is an exhaust leak on a 3 litre V6 Camry
likely to cost? Believe it is near the manifold somewhere......???
Will be buying the car soon from the olds as a work car and apart from that,
it's in good nick, hence I'd like an idea on the cost.

It depends where it is it leaking. Just the gasket? Or is it leaking
because has a stud broken?

If drilling out broken studs is required, this will cost more.

Sorry cant answer any of ur questions re flange/which manifold or if a
stud is broken...might have to get a mechanic to look/quote on it...
Thanx so far.

Would very much depend on where the leak is.. it could simply be a leaky
flex joint, which should be fairly quick and cheap to fix, or could be a
broken stud as others have said. which will probably cost $$$

If it sounds like someone tapping the exhaust piping with a small hammer
while you are accelerating, it is probably a manifold leak which could be a
broken stud.. if it just sounds like it's 'farting' under acceleration,
then it is probably further down, a flange gasket or flex joint.. or even
just a hole in a muffler.

That sounds like it %100......farting under acceleration and a cold start...
I'll still get it sorted b4 i buy it...as i said it belongs to the old's and
is a 97 model with only 147k's on it and is in great nick...all for $5000.00
(They are leaving the country and cant be stuffed advertising it)

take it to an exhaust shop
not a mechanic
they will find it and give you a quote right there
they are set up for that sort of thing
might be quite cheap
