Indeed Hiace has an excellent reputation for reliability and Kia? I
wouldn't bother.

The current model isn't that old so I wouldn't imagine any more than a cosmetic
change.

Yep, and a Kia is $23,000 and a HiAce is $29,000.
Kia has a 3 year 100,000k warranty, more than enough to influence a
business purchase.

I know a Kia would take advantage of the 3 year warranty over the hiace.

Dunno Dan, A friend has bought two to replace his HiAce vans.
He's very happy with them and after nearly 18months hasn't had a
problem afaik.

Like any small business, saving $12k or so is always a bonus.

not when you have to keep replacing the radio's every month because they
just stop dead and I have heard kia's gearboxes are shit and wont do 100,000
klms b4 needing replacing

we have a 2.8 99 hiace diesel of course with 500,000 klms on it and it still
going strong that's 1/2 a millions kilometres

hiaces have same warranty as well

Some pics here:
http://toyota.jp/business/index.html

and if you're prepared to spend the time randomly clicking on buttons you
can't read, you might find more pics and specs too - but I didn't feel like
going to that much trouble :)

Yep, same.
Most businesses retire their vehicles at 3 years so the Kia won't
cost. only save the difference in initial cost.

It's always interesting to see what cars that went off the market years ago
here are still being made elsewhere...
