Transfer of real estate agents

just a little question.

if i am renting a dwelling and i have a lease with a real estate and the
landlord decides to change real estate dont i have to sign anything which
states that i give permission to release my personal information so the old
real estate can take my details to the new one like privacy act or
something?

any thoughts?

Your lease is, in law, with the landlord, not the real estate agent. The
REA is only the agent for the landlord.

If the landlord changes his REA, all that happens is that the agent
changes. The former agent should transfer all relevant details to the new
agent on behalf of the landlord. The former agent might just as well have
given all the information to the landlord, who passes it to the new agent.
Nothing changes legally between you and the landlord. Your permission is
not required for that transfer of your personal information.

Nope nothing to do with you ....as long as you are notified of rental
payment changes.......the "old" real estate won't be passing your details on
to the "new real estate agent.....the owner maybe........if you are
concerned take it up with the landlord/owner.....

No, the permission is implied as it is necessary for the smooth
operation of the property.

Thanks... I was getting a little tired of pointing out the village idiot's

Still, why should he care about the law of agency? What;s so special
about that area of law that it should be immune to seppotic
re-interpretation? After all, company law, constitutional law, law of
property, succession law, copyright law, law of evidence, and many, many
