A lot of money for a very "ordinary" car.
Similar in ways to our XC Cobra, as far as collectability goes.
    The price, well.........LOL

Mate of mine still has his 68 Camaro , admitidely not at all rigi due to
the 383 and 5 speed and brake upgrades but being the 2nd owner since new
and owning it for 25 years seems to be worth just a fraction of that
    asking price.

These are collectors cars like the Shelby Mustangs.

Rare and usually with an interesting provenance.

    Silly prices are the norm.

    Yep, bloody absurd.
Hard to believe it's only done 9000 miles too. He's
probably just trying it on... on the off chance some rabid collector with
mega bucks might go for it.

Only a fool would buy that one. It isn't standard.

Not quite - this guy is a tugger and that money is ludirous - BUT its miles
apart from a shitbox Falcon Cobra ! They were like LE Monaros and Goss
Falcons all style and no substance . at least the ZL1 Camaros had some
    serious mumbo underneath.

    maxy

I doubt many people would consider a Camaro at that price but this is
certainly one of the rarest and most collectible cars that Chevrolet ever
built, from what I've read, it was the first Chevy with an aluminum engine
and is supposed to be the fastest factory built Chevy ever. They were
rated at around 430HP but dropping the pipes gave them about 580HP! and
with slicks, this car could run mid-low 10's. After a quick google search
I even found a replica for sale at $US135k! <http://tinyurl.com/aggdj>

    Here's a story about the ZL-1...

Utterly silly price for a repro , considering its possible to build an
awesome car from scratch for less one wonders why a repro might even be
    considered at such money .
Ive been working on the computers on a custom built glass bodies toy
which so far has run about 55 to 60 k with shattering performance I dont
see that mystique is worth another 70k.
