    Cremated or Buried?

Thought this one would be interesting....also that I'm bored enough to do it.
    So what do people prefer??
    To be buried or cremated?

Personally I prefer to be cremated. Even though I will be dead just the thought that there could be that small minute chance that if I'm not and wake up then there is the fear of not getting out, also just the thought that there will be bugs everywhere gives shivers up the spine. So at least if I'm burnt there's no chance of that and if I happen to wake up at least then I know it will be over with pretty quick. Granted I would still be screaming and yelling and kicking..but paddy's a tight so and so when it comes to finances at times so it probably won't be that hard to break through the cheap wood.
That's enough from me for now.

it's cheaper to be burned too

burn me, and throw my ashes into the forest - imo cemeties should be scrapped and every one should be fried and ash dumped where ever..

I've discussed this with my kids so they all know what I want when the time comes, I've said I want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered in a place I love. They are fine with that and will do as I wish as I would with them.

Organs donated (doubt they'll be wanting my liver ) and the rest cremated to be scattered in an as-yet unknown location.

How about a 'won't really care' option? Whatever my loved one thinks is best (I mean to die first... ), is ok with me.

Even if I become the meat in a chinese dish, but I digress...

That's exactly what my Mum says, and I completely agree. Apart from all the cost of burial and everything, loved ones feel that they have to visit the grave to pay repects.
If your ashes are scattered in a place that you love, or that meant something to you, like the beach for example, then whenever loved ones go to the beach they would remember you.

    Dead and Buried

Put me in the ground and plant a tree on top.

As my body decays the tree will grow and feed a nation with C02.

It will be the last good thing I do for the earth!

I have a small fear of being buried alive. Therefor I want all my organs removed and donated (except my corneas) and then cremated. I don't care what happens to my ashes, whatever my loved ones see fit. I was thinking of donating my body to science but the idea of people poking me naked and dead is too creepy

By the time I die burial won't be an option - we can't afford to keep wasting land for hundreds of years with all our dead!

Yank out anything useful and throw me in the oven thanks.

I'm guessing you want to feed the nation with O2 -- if we need more CO2 we can just burn more coal

I'm for cremation as well. Burial seems like a waste of land.

i dont really care what is done with me once i die! as a christian my belief is that the body is a vessle in which the spirit lies, once the spirit has moved on there is no need for the vessel, therefore there is no real reason for me to want one or the other!

Just a small affair for me... a lightly decorated Viking ship floating down the Yarra in flames, adorned with as much precious metal as it can hold. Oh, and I want my wife burned with me. Thanks.

In my religion, a bottle is used to hold the spirit. Whisky usually

I live about 2 blocks away from the local cemetery,And often drive past most of the graves are overgrown with weeds,it seems that loved ones are soon forgotten.
Ive told my loved ones i want to be cremated, and i'm a donor on my license and ive registered with the David Hooks foundation ,at least that way part of me may live on and enjoy life a little longer, weather i'll enjoy any of it is another thing.

I don't really care where I end up. They're going to cut all the useful things out of me first so I'm not worried about being buried alive. The one thing that would make me choose burial over cremation is if my loved ones want somewhere to go to pay their respects.

You can have a little spot in a big brick wall at the cemetary with a tasteful little plaque. "WE BURNT HIM. WE BURNT HIM GOOD" for example.
