    Display Problem

Recently my computer was overrun by trojans, viruses, spyware the whole bit.
I now have virus scan and firewalls and I run them everyday. My computer is
much faster and better now. But I have one problem. When I try to customize
my desktop I cannot choose one of the default pix and I cannot set a pic as
the background. I cannot even scroll through the different pictures to use as
a background... The only thing I can do is change the color and half the time
that doesn't even work. What can I do to make it so I can have a picture as
    the background?

Try doing a repair install (make sure you have your product key handy).

You can recover your key using the magical Jellybean key finder if you
have misplaced your Certificate of Authenticity

Unlock Desktop / Remove Active Desktop restrictions:
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/unlockdesktop.reg

Download the REG file and save to Desktop. Right-click and choose "Merge".
    Click Yes to confirm changes.
