Nothing more to see here. The News Ltd press should never have printed that
    junk in the first place.

    "Haneef reports wrong: Keelty"
Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Mick Keelty has dismissed as
"inaccurate" reports Mohamed Haneef was involved in a plot to carry out a
terrorist attack on the Gold Coast.

News Limited newspapers today reported that the AFP were examining images of
a Gold Coast building and its foundations found in photographs and documents
    connected to the Indian-trained doctor.

To a point, in the sense that the AFP has denied that the accusations of
a plan to attack a building are true.

However, it appears that the photographs and diagrams exist. Which begs
the question of how the leaker knew that. I rather doubt the leak came
from the defence lawyers, which leaves.....?

Someone wants Haneef to look guilty, and they want it bad.

Those photos and diagrams are interesting in themselves. The photos and
diagrams are of the largest (by far)building on the Gold Coast - which is a
tourist attraction in itself. Easily the most photographed building there.
If you visited the Gold Coast and didnt get photos if this building, it
would be suspicious. As for those plans... well they are just promotional
    material for tourists.

This whole story was never an issue with the police. Haneef was never
questioned about it at all. Someone fabricated this story and fed it to the
hungry (right wing) media who jumped at it.

I visited the Gold Coast and took precisely zero photos of large
    buildings.

I wonder at the response if he did so in certain other places in the world ?
I wonder then at his treatment

Yes, but in case the point I was making has been missed, whoever
fabricated it apparently knew that there was a photograph of the
building. This knowledge could only have from from a limited number of
    sources.

At least Haneef pushed Hicks off the front

You must remember him. He was a dangerous terrorist half a decade ago
who scouted out an empty building and guarded a tank.

Not even this one (the Q1)?

    rtments/gold-coast-luxury/photos/pic-1
Hmmm why not?... this is suspicious....

And heres a photo of the Q1... complete with plans. Which is what the right
wing press used as 'proof' that Haneef must be plotting a terror attack:
