    Help me find this movie!

    Hey fellas,

Im trying to work out the name of a movie i watched a while back.

    I remember the following:

-It was about a family who went on a "voyage??"(Big Ship) and the boat crashed and they had to live in a weird tent thing in the middle of the ocean
-They funneled rain water to drink
-The older daughter didnt want to go
    -The younger daughter was drawing
    -Sharks came
    -Based on a true story
-The "captain" (dad??) had a journal and he narrated throughout the film

ive been trying to think of the name for ages, any help would be awesome

    cheers,
    Rhys

Nope not that one, argh! this has been eating away at me for so long.

I think they also made a big deal about rationing the water because it didnt rain very often. Keeping in mind this is all guessing from memory but they may have been letting water drip into buckets? They all manned the ship, the older daughter was very negative at the beginning of the movie, adamant about not going, in fact now that i think about it she may have ended up staying behind?

All these things are coming back to me, except the damn title!

yes, the ending was the dad firing a flair into the sky because they've spotted a boat, the boat turns there direction towards the family and the movie ends (I think).

I can't think of anything. You may want to try playing around with IMDB key word search.

This is one with the keywords "based on a true story" and "ship"

Not sure, but would it be Alfred Hitchcock's Lifeboat?
