    Not just Jok11n

Congratulations, your administratorship. Hope you successfully haggled an attractive salary package with plenty of perks.

Also, I presume you won't have to watch your back.

Crap! So this means there's another person that I care about kissing ass to now?

Congratulations, if it was an ambition fulfilled.

Yes, took a triple pay increase, what's 3 x nothing again

It wasn't an ambition, but something I don't mind doing, for the most part everyone is well behaved so not much to do anyway

I guess the down side for me personally, to your position and heightened forum access, is even more uncertainty over where the line is. Since I'm here and typing though, I'll go ahead and compliment you, and say that you seem like a humble user here, and it seems good to have you while I'm here, seems like a good decision.

I always find the obvious interesting... you'll never really know if I said the above to be a an arse kisser or not. If I was an administrator, I'd probably sign on in a bad mood and paranoid at 3am and ban someone for saying something nice about me because I thought it had a slight innuendo that I didn't like. It facinates me that some people handle these roles with apparent lack of trouble because I don't understand how it's not very difficult for some people.

    Good luck as well.

The only people I have banned (and would ban) without question have been spammers as they detract from the experience, I would never ban someone on a whim or because I personally didn't like them, just for the record there is nobody that frequents these boards that I don't like, there might be a few unusual characters but certainly nobody that I dislike.

For someone to get banned it would generally be someone that broke the rules or were generally pushing their luck with other members etc, nothing to do with me having a bad day, I've been an admin on 2 other forums for the past few years and have had little reason to ever ban anyone, both other forums are tech related forums and are more focused but the same rules apply, the same personality types seem to exist on any forum

Watcher did that. I messaged him when some time had passed and it looked like the ban wasn't temporary.
We both broke the rules, there's no point in further bickering about it either. We both broke them.

This thread wasn't intended as an opportunity to indulge in a good ole bitching session. Sometimes it's just nice to be appreciated for what you are thought to be capable of doing, even before your salary gets tripled.

When I was invited to do some modding, it came out of the blue because having been hounded out of the forum proper after the first couple of dozen posts here, I then directed almost all of my first thousand messages through the eyo gateway to use groups, so I didn't expect anybody, let alone admin or mods to even notice my continued presence.

That they did note - and deemed me useful as a moderator - came as a pleasant surprise, and I guess Jok11n was similarly surprised and pleased to be asked to become an administrator. I started this thread to acknowledge his position and to show my appreciation for the behaviour that got him there.

Just to clarify, I was referring to my own views on moderation, any banning you may have suffered in the past had nothing to do with me, my views haven't changed regardless of my access privileges

What rule did i break? You want nuts and swore and abused and i did nothing of the kind. The rules don't indicate the degree to which the posts have to be happy and un-sarcastic.

Well, then i'll add that banning to the list of reasons why i don't like watcher...

You are the only tech thread mod though.

We've already sort of discussed this a little. You'll have to ask me in the shouter again, and we'll go through it in a little more detail, but It's hardly seems worth it since it's not very relevant to anything now.

Yeah, addressing me will invariable provoke a response. congratulations, you figured that out. Any other wonders from the void mind of soundbot that you want to grace us with?

That banning was unprovoked. Yours was due to breaching the rules.

Perhaps next time i should get my mother to write people letters. Seems to be the soundbot thing to do
