I have just returned from a week away and the phorums have changed I think I will like the new features, however it may take a while for me to get used to this so people who have left messages for me I have read them but please excuse the delay until I find out how these new functions work

Also it took me a while to find where PM's went - had me concerned for a while they might have disappeared but have finally found them so all good

I don't do Facebook or MySpace so are the new functions on here somehow similar to what these websites use

Thank you for keeping the phorums upgraded to the latest versions/software

The profile chat box is optional and can be disabled/enabled by entering your User Control Panel, selecting Edit Options, and scrolling down to Visitor Messaging to tick/untick the box.
Extending his universal communication tendrils, Quorf addressed the Earthling in the traditional manner, "We come in peace. Take me to your leader." He was buzzing with anticipation; this was his first contact mission. The Earthling opened it's mouth, "Here it comes." he thought.

"Funny tasting bug." thought the chameleon, swallowing.

    I didn't know that

I noticed that most of us are replying to each other in only one profile instead of messaging each other's boxes this makes using the "view conversation" option look like someone taking to themselves

Don't mean to be picky, just thought it was time someone mentioned it why me

I noticed that but not many others seem to be but it doesn't worry me either way because I pretty much worked out that if the answer isn't in the first place I think of to look it will be in the next place

Like I said before, just thought it was time someone mentioned it here

Regarding social groups, how does one know if they would be welcome to join up to the public groups

I think public means for anyone to join. That's what I reckon anyway, that if someone wanted to keep some people out, or have a group that's only a given set of members welcome, then they wouldn't make it public but by invite.

Thanks MeanDean, I thought it was self-explanatory at the moment I'm quite happy to sit on the fence and watch the proceedings however that could change as I get used to the new features around the phorums
