I am a some what pissed off owner of a TELEFUNKEN TEL0713-250. It doesn't want to record to the HDD and suddenly freezes whilst playing DVD's I have cleaned the DVD surface, cleaned the lens, I have reset the CODED on "off"
Short of sending it back I have run out of options.

Can someone help me. The instruction booklet is as helpful as a hip pocket in a nudist camp.

it sounds like you might need to send it back, random lockups don't sound promising

I think talk like a pirate day is over already seriously though I would think it's a candidate for the service department, there are no magic resets to get them working again unfortunately, the trade off with a non branded product I guess is questionable reliability and lifespan

Problem solved I returned the offending DVD recorder to the store and promptly purchased a new Sony DVD Recorder.
