Region hack for Pioneer DV 220-KV needed

I bought this unit at WoW locally and could have sworn he said it was region-free. This does not appear to be the case so if anyone knows of the code/process to make it so I would be grateful.

have you tried other region discs, Pioneer are normally region free out of the box but they are always labeled as region 4 only
Got caught out by my boss sleeping under my desk at work, told him I was planking, I've now been promoted to head of social media

Yeah a have a few region 1 discs that I brought with me when I moved over here some 6 years ago. Up until now I have codes for all the players I have purchased here.

    Edited to add......

My wife sugested trying the manual that came with it and I found country code section under parental lock. Further in the manual it lists countries and codes associated with them. For instance the US is 2119 and Australia is 0121. There's no code listed here to make it always region free though. So if anyone knows this that would be great. At least now I should be able to play my region one discs by changing this everytime. No fun when you have a 2 year old who watches 5 minutes of one disc before she finds another in the drawer and wants that. And I suppose I could always rip and reburn the discs.

Further edit: Even putting in the code for US won't allow me to play the region 1 discs. I get an error stating that region code is incompatible. Blah.
