    External HDD

I have backed up my PC to an external drive. It is close to being full. How can I remove old backups and leave the latest one in the drive. Thanks,Allan

You'd need to be way more specific...

Like... what backup software are you using?

Hi Randy, Once a week, my pc notifies me that files and folders need to be backed up. I use an external drive and plug into a port. My pc sees my external drive and I activate the "Windows Backup"

I would suspect you could just browse the contents of the drive and delete the oldest backups, bit hard without seeing what you've got exactly but I wouldn't think there would be much more to it than that
Got caught out by my boss sleeping under my desk at work, told him I was planking, I've now been promoted to head of social media

Hi Everyone, YEP YEP YEP, I right clicked on the External Hard Drive, clicked on disc cleanup, clicked on system restore and shadow copies "cleanup button", this removed all but the latest restore point.
    Thanks for the help. Allan

have you tried prying it out of the case and plugging it into your computer directly? i've had external enclosures fail before.
