Needed: beige SATA NON-RIPLOCKED DVD burner

I was just about to buy an LG GSA-H62N from directron.com for $30 plus
ship, but then read a few reviews, and found that the drive is riplocked.
It took almost 30 minutes to rip most movies.

I currently have a 16X BENQ DVD-ROM drive installed, and I get rip times
of under 10 minutes for all the movies I do. On the new drive I get, I
expect to get similar times, so a riplocked drive is out of the question. I
will not support companies that purposefully, artificially limit the
    performance of their drives.

That said, can anyone suggest a good beige SATA burner drive for me that
    is not riplocked?

I have two Lite-On LH-20A1 drives, one SATA (20A1S) and the other IDE
(20A1P) and they both do fine. Depending on the movie either will rip an
average 2hr movie in 10-15mins depending on protection/compression etc. I
use cheap Dynex media and very rarely make a coaster with either drive. I am
not sure of the prices now, but IIRC, they were just under $40US each at
Newegg when I bought them back in April. I have a 16x BenQ in my other
system and it is a great drive but seems a bit more picky about the media
than the Lite-Ons. Make sure you flash them to the new firmware as soon as
you get them for better performance with more media types.
