Well I'll be at work for Just Shoot Me, but I think I'll set the video for it. Just have to make sure I watch it every evening - these 5 day a week shows build up fast if you don't keep up.

Sorry, can't stand that show, not really a fan of those American (what would you call them sitcoms?) shows. Seinfeld is the only one that cuts the cheese for me..

Late tonight/Saturday morning at 1:00am, Ch10 is screening the recent Cold Chisel - Ringside tour (well, 48mins of the concert anyway, just edited for the big hits I assume).

UK Band "The Darkness" are programming RAGE tonight, followed by a collection of "novelty" videos (Spinal Tap, Tenacious D, The Muppets, Weird Al etc).

And in case anyone is interested, around 1:40am they will be playing the video for Babooshka, by Kate Bush.

Better turn the tv off at that time. Don't want it to blow up from being offended

Okay - time to weird people out totally. Not sure about other states, but here in Brisbane "Touched By An Angel" has been showing at 10am weekdays.

Well, Friday was the final episode of season 9 - last season ever. I used to love this show - real tearjerker. It will be sorely missed by me, and I hope that they bring it out on DVD.

And no - I am not being sarcastic. I genuinely liked this show, and am sad to see it go.

A new Series Premiers tonight at 8:30pm on 7 - Las Vegas . I believe it is meant to be pretty good(stars James Cann), a possible worth while look at before the 3rd season of 24 starts.

12 o'clock, honestly. Why put such shows like that on a 12 o'clock. It would slot in perfectly around 7:00pm weeknights (taking over Home & Away of course) and ratings would kill.

    I just don't understand......

Pretty simple really. Fans of shows like Futurama, Star Trek, Angel etc are devoted. They will watch (or tape) the show at 19:00, 23:00, 0:00 or 03:00.

Watchers of Home and Away aren't. Move it to midnight and you will get virtually no viewers.

So to maximise ratings, it's best to put the "cult" type shows in the late night slots and the more casual type shows in prime time.

As you said, alot of people would end up just taping the program, and im not sure if this is classified as ratings or not (you may be able to help here). Therefore it might be a better idea to show something that more people will watch and that will get a lot more ratings.

Anyway just my thoughts, I may be wrong but in my opinion shows like Futurama should be put ahead of others like H & A or atleast around a similar/suitable timeslot.

Oh, I agree with your opinion completely. I wish all the shows I liked were on at good times as well. Personally I think the show which best deserves a 7:00 timeslot is Whose Line Is It Anyway, since it requires no day-to-day following and can be enjoyed by anyone with no learning curve. I think it would thrive.

But networks only care about ratings, and I can't disagree with their Futurama scheduling too much in that respect. Although if I were them I would hold it off until I could throw it on at 10:30 to follow new episodes of Stargate at 9:30, which I feel would hold a very good lead-in (competing only with news) to an 11:00 show like The Amazing Race. But what do I know.

And to answer your question, taped and rewatched programs are recorded in the Nielsen ratings.

The Nielsen Media Research Television Ratings service uses people meters to measure television audience viewing ... People meters provided audience data for television viewing and video recording and playback. The system also measured viewing to subscription television services, electronic games and visitor viewing.
