Maybe you'll get lucky and trigger an "outburst" of venom by ol' Herc.

Wonerfull, wonerfull. I wonder what Herc thinks about Cicadas?

They are at their peak and really going at it tonight.

    Herc...Herc...Herc....Herrrrrrrrrrrrccc!

Hmm... they do sound like they are saying that.

Maybe there really is something to his theory of being the Truman. Even theCicadas are out to get him.

I was near the lake today, and they were all around me, and with them
were some very large and nosy wasps. They didn't mention Herc. Awwwww.

Australia is many hours ahead of the USA, so any signals coming from Parkes
gave them plenty of time to react!

I'm not familiar with all those. Generally, freeway signs are in
miles, though when you get close they'll go to half or quarter mile.
The "mile marker" posts, which are almost universally ignored, usually
have miles and sometimes tenths. Where did you see fifths of miles or
yards? Signs like "Lane ends 250 yards"?

    > When we switched to metric the speed signs changed and had a red circle around the number. Distance signs used to have mi as an abbreviation ISTR.

That's sort of like when we abandoned the illegal national 55mph
limit, and states set freeway limits to 65, 70, 75, etc. The new
signs were larger, to be more noticeable, and when the limit dropped
to 55 (typically "in town") they had red flags. I think switching all
the speed limit signs in one project, and putting a red circle around
the number, should be sufficient. That would require a lot of
    cooperation between jurisdictions though.
