It's gotten like that in several groups, alas.

Kill-filing the offenders goes a long way to helping, but there're always
those who reply to them, exacerbating the problem.

I hope I haven't been kill-filed. No body seems to like me. :-)

We allow folk who use Macs here so we are quite egalitarian. If those users
rant on about things that are political, well as i said we allow Macs
    here...

Actually, it's an up market alter ego version of aus.politics &
    aus.computers combined, called aus.compolitics.
It was created in the mind of few desperate usenetters (myself included, I
think). It was initiated by late usenet veteran
Rod Speed from his little room in hell with the super broadband from the
afterlife. He does believe in afterlife and satan now, since
he's made to suffer in hell by glueing onto a computerized wheel chair with
a with a lighted oxy welder aimed at his bottom, forever, but still doesn't
    believe in god though, therefore
highly unlikely to get off the grip of the satan and enjoy anytime in
    heaven, ever.

P.S. He still believes, he's on earth, not in the lake of fire, poor
    bastard.
