I pick up most of my stuff from http://www.ezydvd.com.au/ and http://www.familyboxoffice.net.au/ - never had any problems with either of them (and I love EzyDVD's wishlist/ordering system, makes it really easy to put stuff in for later).

When I'm buying a bunch of stuff though, I find this site invaluable:

ok back on topic I only have GREAT things to say about dstore.com.au
fast reliable delivery, but they never have early releases etc, still have to go overseas if you want anything early

but for regular gear they are spot on, cheap and always have specials re free delivery (registered oz post - requires a signature)

DVD Pacific (listed above) in the US allows direct deposit for Australians without credit cards - email them and ask if you can do it - heaps, heaps cheaper than Aussie stores selling R1.

I think the .net one is US based but they all ship from hong kong.

I've heard very good things and I will place an order with them very soon.

Also, Wizz I think it would be useful if you added all the recommendations so far into your first post to make it easier to view.
All except the one with the bad rap of course.

    thanks

    www.cd-wow.biz (Australia)

Definately recommend cd-wow (especially for UK dvds) - they don't have the widest range to choose from however.
Dvd Pacific is still better for R1 I reckon

im my experience it takes them 48hrs to ship and 7 days to deliver (inc weekends).
Over the last 20 or so orders its been pretty much the same.

they are terrific, my number 1 place to order from.

thier selection is not as great as most other R1 stores but its pretty good. Its just older movies where they dont really get much stock in.

CD-WOW don't seem to have much stuff though. I always check them when I'm looking for something, but they just never seems to have what I want! Perhaps something wrong wioth their search engine. I use the HK based one. link is:

In Canada, a site for DVD blanks is Banzai Cracker
The owners are old high school friends from Vancouver. Good guys. Highly recommended.

If you're into Bollywood, Canadaflix has a novel rental by mail system, as well as items for sale.

My favourite by far is Benson's World (UK : Region 2)
    http://www.bensons-world.co.uk/
The shipping's not as cheap as it used to be (£1.75 per disc, was only 50p per before), but their prices are regularly £5-20 less than Blackstar.

Note shipping is per disc, not per item.

Elsewhere, I've used http://www.dvdpacific.com/ (good prices, service and somewhat sluggish delivery), http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/ (great prices, decent service and quick delivery) and http://www.totalactionuniverse.com/ (good prices, lost package, so-so service (had to bug them with a ton of emails to get anyone to respond) and very slow delivery - might have been because of those terrorists though).

Small aussie online shops to checkout

    Hi all ,
I have just found 2 aussie online auction houses to buy and sell DvD's
They are small but Australian the first is called
Charters Towers Auction House Australia I have found over the last couple of weeks that this site is great for selling as there are no end of sale fees , like some other bigger places that i cannot say .
The other is called Adult Auctions Australia I think from there url that the same people must run both places or they share a host , this i am not sure . But surfing the net in Australia there seem to be only 3 places on the net that service this area .
I have looked for days and cannot find any online stores that deal in second hand DvD's other then these 2 above .Why is that the biggest auction house in aus i cannot say the name but you know what i mean , why is that there fees are so high, because there is no where else to shop so they can charge you what they want and one has to pay ,, not right to me .

Please if anyone can help me with finding a place to buy second hand DvD's
in Australia that is cheap and you can recommend , would be great thankyou.

Just thought I'd stick in a plug for Amazon UK.
I tend to forget about them sometimes while I'm checking out the Asian and American sites, but they have probably the best service of any store and sometimes have really good prices.
I placed an order yesterday and had an email back saying it had been despatched within 6 hours, and going on past performance it should be here within a week. It was also considerably cheaper at 11.97pounds compared to 19.99 at all the other stores.

(BTW does anyone know how you do a pounds sign or any other symbol that is not on the keyboard?)
