Shockwave '05!!, Was awesome, loved it. The main acts were Antiskeptic and Rookie. Spent $50 buks on merch lol. They also had moto cycle X; skate comp, graffeti comp, drag cars, and other stuff, was in Sunbury!- is an annual event.
New exclusive Behind Crimson Eyes track; one of Melbourne's greatest local acts in the screamo/rock scene! Taken from their upcoming EP/DVD "Parvour Nocturnus", titled "The Black Veil", download here.

Switchfoot were great last Tuesday at the Roundhouse. Support band Zinc sounded fantastic too, and Small Mercies were also very good.

Highlight for me (since we didn't get soap bubbles ) was how 'Dare You to Move' became a MASSIVE sing-a-long. EVERYONE was singing along! It was fantastic!! I will definitely agree with the Cowboy on the awesomeness of the acoustic '24', the AMAZING 'On Fire' and the oh-so-cool 'Meant to Live'

Will do all in my power to see them next time they're out here. They reckon it'll be in about 6 months when they finish the new album. SQUEE!

Switchfoot were very good indeed - they blew me away when I caught them supporting Killing Heidi late last year, hadn't really heard much from them before that. Jon is a wonderful front man, and really knows how to work an audience.

On Fire is my favourite of theirs as well, and it was definitely brilliant.

Was impressed by Small Mercies as well, especially their second last song.

Didn't see you there jellybean - perhaps on Wednesday.

    simple plan/GREEN DAY

Cannot comment on Simple Plan because (thankfully) my mates were being 'fashionably late', so we got there just as Simple Plan were finishing with the cringe-inducing PERFECT. The only perfect thing about it was, that was the only song of theirs I had to endure The crowd seemed to enjoy it though.

Green Day burst onto stage at about 9.05 Launching into American Idiot and Jesus of Suburbia. The set list was almost identical to this recent setlist I found on the web. In fact I'm pretty sure the only difference was they switched the order of Minority and King For A Day/Shout:

    American Idiot
    Jesus of Suburbia
    Holiday
    Are We The Waiting
    St.Jimmy
    Longview
    Hitchin a Ride
    Brain Stew
    Jaded
    Knowledge
    Basketcase
    She
Wake Me Up When September Ends
    Minority
    King For A Day/ Shout

    ENCORE
    Boulevard of Broken Dreams
    When I Come Around
    We Are The Champions
    Good Riddance

AMAZING! Billie Joe is just a bundle of energy and such a showman!! Highlights? Good Riddance, Minority and She song-wise.

    Lots of lights, confetti, pyrotechnics.

And the crowd was INCREDIBLE!! I've NEVER heard screaming like that!!

Played for nearly 2 hours, so good value for money. Even for those of you who had to pay for your tickets

Excellent! I can't wait till I get to finally see them in a couple of days. Should make the fact that I paid double for my ticket seem less painful.

    Awwwww *hugs zoidy*

It will be worth every cent you paid Lots of fun.

Loved how Billie Joe assembled a band from audience members I don't THINK they were 'plants', because he got rid of the first guitarist, and they also ditched the drummer after a minute or two. But the guitarist and bass-player they eventually got up on stage were pretty damn good! AND Billie Joe let the guitarist KEEP THE GUITAR he gave him!!

BJ obviously wanted to be certain he remembered where he was too - cuz he said "BRISBANE!!!" a heck of a lot

If I had to find ONE disappointment, it would probably be that they didn't play "Give Me Novacaine", one of my fave tracks from American Idiot.

But a fantastic night - awesome seats too! Got a great view of the stage!!

    My night at Green Day

It's 11.50pm and I've just arrived back from an awesome and memorable time at Green Day. My ears are ringing like anything but damn was it a top concert!

Wasn't into Simple Plan really but they seem to have put on a good set.

Moving on, Green Day...what can I say? f'n awesome! Best concert so far I have been to and i'm not only saying that cause I just saw this band tonight. They had great pyro, lights and backdrop and they were really good at pumpin and working the crowd. Damn them people who got to jam with Green Day! so so lucky!

Favourite song of the night would have to be all of em! they played each song so damn good. I really liked Jesus of Suburbia and When I Come Around but they were all so damn good.

Was good to meet jellybean and her friend during the break between Simple Plan and Green Day...that's another EYO'er I know now. So it was nice meeting you jellybean

Cheers to Cowboy for letting me know their set-list

And yeah...top concert, well done to Green Day...they f'n rock!
Chuck Norris originally appeared in the "Street Fighter II" video game, but was removed by Beta Testers because every button caused him to do a roundhouse kick. When asked bout this "glitch," Norris replied, "That's no glitch."

Not exactly a concert - but I saw The Goodies on Saturday. They were as funny as ever and even sung "The Funky Gibbon"!

Have any other EYO members had a chance to see them on their Australian tour?

Awww, it was great to meet you too, mate! Turns out I *might* actually see you at The Used too - I *might* be able to go!

Last night? Was BRILLIANT. It was my first big concert, but wow, definitely one I'll remember forever. Highlights for me were Jesus of Suburbia, Brain Stew, Minority and Time of Your Life. But the rest were totally awesome too - they just put on such an amazing live show!

Me and one of my friends renamed Simple Plan "Pimple Plan"...the only thing I enjoyed was The Darkness, but purely because I love the song (listening to it now, actually) ...and I have NEVER heard such high-pitched girly screaming in my life!

All in all, a fantastic night. I reeeeeeeeaallly enjoyed it. Awesome show.

COOL!! I'll be seeing them with my brother tomorrow night!

Grew up watching them, and bought both the DVDs released so far. Still as funny as ever

I'm really glad you're going Cowboy! If you loved the TV show you should also really enjoy the live act. Like you, I grew up watching them - so to finally see them live was a real treat. Let me know what you think of the show!

Saw Green Day last night as well and they were absolutely amazing!!! From the minute they walked on stage to when they left was bloody awesome. I thought Hitching a Ride, Holiday, Welcome to Paradise and basically every song on their set list were fantastic. The lights and pyrotechnics were spectacular too. Getting those people up on stage to jam with them was great too, wish I'd known how to play guitar...

But I reckon the ending was just brilliant. They played "We Are the Champions" while green, white and red bits of paper were rained down over everyone on the floor. Nice spectacular ending. But then, in the aftermath of the storm, they played "Good Riddance" which I think finished the show perfectly.

    In two words: Bloody Brilliant!

Unfortunately one thing threatened to put a damper on the night, the Superdome. That place is just way too big for a concert like that. I was lucky enough to be on the floor, but I really feel sorry for the people who were stuck in the nosebleed section. The thing that really annoyed me when we got there was that they had decided to split the floor crowd into two. So because we got there late (due to a late class) we were stuck in the back section and couldn't see anything. I really don't think they do anything much safety-wise and just end up making half the people miss out on a glimpse of the stage. I reckon they should've played at the Entertainment Centre instead, a much more reasonably sized venue. I'm actually considering emailing Green Day and asking that they don't play the Superdome again. Hope they listen to the ramblings of one crazy fan.

But lucky for me, Green Day were so f**king awesome that they made me forget that I couldn't see anything when they came out on stage.

Went and say Greenday last night... an awesome great show/spectacular. But for some reason I think I enjoyed the Nimrod tour at festival hall better.... mainly because I thought it was a waste of time stopping every song for five minutes and in between every song for five minutes just do some eeeehhhh-oooohhhs and orchestrated crowd cheering. Now I myself think you are a legend Billie Joe Armstrong... but it it was all a little too much.... we could have fit in 10 more songs.... maybe some more from Insomniac... a very underated album. Other than that they rocked.

Funnny that... I said exactly the same thing. I hurled some abuse during their first song then left and drank beer outside until Greenday came on. I've never heard bigger support for a support band and I've never been to a concert with so many teenage girls.... and I'm glad the other bands I like don't attract them. Their screaming was louder than the band... and when you have some directly in your year it kills. Teeny-boppers must die.

I'm so glad Greenday made no mention of Simple Plan what so ever... yet gave tribute and dedication to 'The Living End', 'The Ramones', 'Queen' and 'Operation Ivy'.

I went last night too. I was a few rows from the back in the upper level but luckily I was next to a walkway and only couldnt see when people were going up and down the stairs. Had a great night but the eeehhhh-ooohhhhs etc were a bit annoying, the teenage girls - very annoying. And the guy in front of me who was jumping around like a lunatic delibretly getting in the way of my short friends - extremely annoying but otherwise I enjoyed myself . I hadn't seen Green Day before so I had nothing to compare them too. I'd definetly go and see them again though.
I was shocked that the crowd new the first verse and chorus to Perfect without him/Simple Plan even having to sing it - then I thought, thats the only reason half of those girls were there Im glad I took some hear plugs so the screaming wasnt so loud.
I couldnt believe when the 19 year old guy who got to play guitar on stage got to keep it. What a lucky guy!

I had a blast at Green Day last night. One of the best concerts I've been too. I have to agree with you and say a lot of time was wasted between songs.

I hadn't been to a concert other than a large concert other than Festival Hall for a few years so all the teenage girls took me by surprise.

I loved Jesus of Suburbia,Welcome to paradise, heck, I liked all the songs and when they picked people out of the crowd to form a band and they actually sounded good.
