    User Accounts

Using XP home, have three user accounts and cannot access the "User Account"
    icon in the control panel.
When I click on it nothing happens. My account is an administrator. Tried
booting into safe mode, logging in
under the administrator, but still no good.
    Thanks
    Richard

    Re: User Accounts

Do all the other items in the Control Panel work?

Any error messages? Or just nothing?

    Try this...

Start | Run | Type: control userpasswords |

    Click OK.

    Does User Accounts open?

    Try this...

    Start | Run | Type: nusrmgr.cpl |

    Click OK.

    Does User Accounts open?
    -----

Do a Search on your machine for mshta.exe
It should show up here >>
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
    and
    C:\WINDOWS\system32

    Re: User Accounts

The first two options didn't work. Upon searching my Windows folder I did
    not find
mshta.exe. Other control panel icons do work.

    Re: User Accounts

    Richard,

    1. Click Start, click Search, click All files and folders, and then click
    More advanced options.

    2. Click to select the Search system folders and Search hidden files and
    folders check boxes.

Search you entire machine for mshta.exe

Post back with the locations. I.e...

    C:\WINDOWS\system32

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache

Also do a Search for mshta.ex_

Post back with the location, if any.
