Queensryche returning in August. Wouldn't mind seeing 'em, but I've seen them 3 times now and couldn't really justify the $80+ price tag:

Quote:
Queensrÿche

To Perform Extended Suites:

Rage For Order / American Soldier /Empire

Australian audiences will be privileged to be in a position to be able to witness one of the most acclaimed artists in its genre when Queensrÿche graces our shores for only their second time. Conducting a world tour on the back of their latest blockbusting release, “American Soldier”, Queensrÿche has included Australia on its itinerary and will come down under to perform, what will be known as; Extended Suites: Rage For Order/American Soldier/Empire.

Perth - 27th August - Capitol (over 18)
Brisbane - 29 th August - HI FI Bar ( over 18)
Melbourne - 30 th August - BIllboard The venue (over 18)
Sydney - 31st August – Metro Theatre (All Ages)

Tickets available from Just Say Rock.

Love ARCH ENEMY. Tixx approx. $75. I'm sold:

Quote:
SOUNDWORKS TOURING presents

ARCH ENEMY
With guests
Suffocation and Winds Of Plague

AUSTRALIAN TOUR NOVEMBER 2009

ARCH ENEMY return to Australia for a phenomenal headlining tour to demonstrate to metal heads here what they do best...delivering pure sonic force and ripping us apart with their stunning brand of metal!
These melodic extreme metal genre-leaders have become a synonym for success, hard work and pure f**king metal! The stunning chart entries of their last two albums “Doomsday Machine” (2005) and “Rise Of The Tyrant” (2007, charted in over a dozen countries!) have allowed the band to celebrate another peak of their already stellar career. Now, ARCH ENEMY proudly showcase their current strength and musical brilliance by releasing a breathtaking live document of their “Rise Of The Tyrant” touring cycle. Witness it first hand, the sheer brilliance of these melodic metal titans!

Arch Enemy guitarist/songwriter Michael Amott comments: "We're totally looking forward returning to Australia, you know we've missed the fans and the great weather! Although the tours in '06 (w/ Megadeth) and '07 (w/ Machine Head) were amazing in many ways, we haven't played a full headline tour in Australia since our first visit back in 2005. So this is long over due and we are more than ready to attack your shores once again! We can't wait to give you the full 'Arch Enemy Heavy Metal Mayhem' experience! And we already know you - the fans, will bring it...Aussie style! See you all in November!"

In direct support will be New York death metal legends SUFFOCATION. Their fusion of technicality, groove and sheer unrelenting brutality has been imitated but never quite duplicated. And now, with the release of SUFFOCATION’s Nuclear Blast debut “Blood Oath”, their legacy of unrelenting and unique heaviness continues for perhaps the genres greatest band!

WINDS OF PLAGUE prepare to unleash their wrath across the Australia with their sophomore release. The stunning slab of brutality entitled “Decimate The Weak” does exactly that with its razor sharp riffs and sheer intensity backed with a monsoon of angst and inner demons that is just waiting to be expelled on stage.

Spose with it being a sellout if you didnt wanna go you could prolly hock tickets eh.

Man, if I had gotten tx to that the news of Jane's Addiction pulling out would be DEVASTATING.

PEARL JAM

Enduring Seattle troupe Pearl Jam will land in Australia this November for a series of open air shows. It has been three years since the band’s last visit, and FasterLouder is proud to be presenting their triumphant return.

Pearl Jam is readying its ninth album Backspacer for release in September, described by guitarist Mike McCready as “a tight, concise rock ‘n roll record”. We’ll be among them first to hear the new songs given the live treatment.

Joining the 2009 tour party is frequent antipodean guest Ben Harper, who’ll lead his Relentless 7 in the support slot. First to hit the stage will be prodigious songman Liam Finn, who has previously supported Eddie Vedder at his solo dates. All this talent under a summer night sky is sure to amount to something special.

Pearl Jam, Liam Finn and Ben Harper & the Relentless 7 play these shows in November, proudly presented by FasterLouder. Tickets on sale 9am Monday 17 August.

Saturday 14 November – Members Equity Stadium, Perth
Tuesday 17 November – Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
Friday 20 November – Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
Sunday 22 November – Sydney Football Stadium, Sydney
Wednesday 25 November – QSAC Stadium, Brisbane

after the melbourne Soundwave, its straight onto other states. Plus, they were only here last year (apparently they didnt play too crash-hot either) so i dont think theyll have any side shows.

As for Trivium, the album got solid reviews and is attracting a more specific metal audience. particularly those who didnt like their earlier stuff.

Ticketek online indicates that the Melbourne Soundwave 2010 Ticketek's allocation has been all sold out.

---

Man, this looks good - think I'll have to get me a (Sydney) ticket real soon.
What's the word on the streets, Sydney Soundwave gonna sell out soon you think?

Jane's Addiction & Faith No More are obviously the big drawcards, and I'd love to see Anthrax, Meshugguh & Anti Flag live.
Anvil, Trivium, Clutch, AFI and to a lesser extent even Placebo (if they do thier Running up that Hill cover) interest me as well.

There's rumours that an as-yet-un-announced other band on the lineup might be Rammstein or Slayer! Though it appears that both these bands have schedules elsewhere during the Soundwave dates, so I HIGHLY DOUBT IT.
Woulnd't that kick ass tho!

Hmmmm..

but it's only a $105 for general admission at A Day on the Green over here, which would be enough for me

you can get tickets for 79.95 at Rod Laver if you want... but who... or more appropriately, why, would you even consider paying anywhere in the vicinity of $1000 to see one artist play for 3 hours at most. Especially Rob Thomas
