V 600

Has anyone else had probs with their V600 ?

Mine has a few probs

1) Doesnt ring when its set for vibrate + 7 setting on loudness .
Speaker is OK , seems to do this .

2 ) Fliplid display typically goes to a chopped up text and requires reboot
to correct .
Also fliplid doesnt display properly when opened and closed , I think
switch is buggered .
3) Cuts out alot when talking around melbourne, Im on Telstra . . Signal
strength appears to be OK .
4) Recharging time is typically 3 hours from flat , has done this since new
.. Anyone else suffer this .Gotta to be the longest charging phone since the
ark .

5) Prediction : Wont be too far away on this hack .

Re: V 600

I had one of those V525's which are exclusive to Vodafone. I must say it
was absolutely horrible.

Because of the flip design, it had become lose around the hinge. In a
phone call the speaker would cut out, the only way to get around that
was to use the hands free kit. Maybe it was your speaker causing cut outs?

The other issue it developed is closing the lid became really sensitive.
Sometimes the phone would switch off. I beleive I had your fliplid
display problem, and it seemed to be related to the force used when
closing the lid.

Recharging I would say it used to take 2 hours from flat, and this was
from when it was new. The battery would last me a week provided I hadn't
been playing Monopoly on the train.

I ended up throwing mine in the bin and bought a Nokia 5140, couldn't be
happier :-)

treat a phone like shit and it'll end up being that? "Because of the flip
design......." Don't blame that, you sound like you broke the ribbon cable
from bending the flip open too far, hence the intermittent speaker. And the
loose hinge syndrome supports that.

Wait till the battery terminals and keypad collapse from normal use, let
alone treating it like shit, then do a warranty try and see how far you get.

I'd much rather a v600, v620 or v525 over the plasticy throwaway Nokia 5140
anyday.

Clearer audio and better styling. And if I spend a few hundred bucks on a
phone, I, and the same I suspect goes for most people in the newsgroup, look
after it.

Yay, I'm a usenet weenie. I jump into a conversation with assumptions
that aren't necessarily correct!

I won't bother arguing, cause to me you're still a jackass :-)

Re: V 600

I like nokia, because they don't do stupid things like place ring style
control button on the side of the phone WHICH CANNOT BE LOCKED! Both the
moto v525 and v600 have this.

This results into your ring style changing to silent with things bumping
it in your pocket, and then missing calls. THANKS MOTOROLA!

My nokia 5140 don't have no stupid buttons like that.

LG are cheap shit, always phones that look like I could snap in one
hand. Which can get me back onto the ruggedness of a phone. Motorola
don't have it. I'd love to see you drop your motorola v600 from 6m and
have it still work flawlessly. Thats one of the sales demonstrations for
my nokia...

Any staff member does that with ANY make or model phone, and I'd make sure
they'd be out the door very fast. Go right ahead and name the shop that
demo'd the 6 METRE drop test. What a load of crock.

a) they could void warranty on shop stock
b) they're encouraging the public to treat phones like crap

Drop a clock radio from 6m . Do you expect it to work? Would you do the drop
test with it to start with? And would you try to get it fixed if it broke?
Me I'd write it off, wouldn't even bother with a repair, let alone try a
warranty claim.
Sure it may still work for a while but do you really know what damage has
been done. Same thing as a phone, its an electronic item, open to abuse.
Drop it enough, abuse it enough, and it'll be reflective of the way you
treat it.....like shit.
So lets drop it.
