DVD connect TV 'hum' problem

I have tried connecting my DVD to my TV using the component out-
put/input sockets (Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr and Y) but get bad hum like mains hum.
This doesn't happen when I use left/right/video outputs.

Any ideas, anyone?

It's called an "earth loop".

Look here for info:

You don't need to go as far as their recommendations. Just try plugging
the gear in to the same circuit/power point first.
