well folks it looks like $40,000 isn't over the top for a fitout

I recently met a guy who happily paid $44K for his HT fitout. I thought it
was over the top, but he said it was the second cheapest quote - the dearest
being just on $78K.

He got (from memory)

false wall, behind which is shelving to house all major components. 8.5
metres of standard dado panelling and 6.5 metres of false dado which
conceals CD-DVD storage. (I was gonna say that's bloody enormous but I have
maybe 4 metres of storage). The components requiring frequent access, like
DVD and CD players are mounted flush with the wall, though are to the side
of the viewing area to reduce light pollution. Finally the screen space has
a pelmet to house the screen when not in use and cabinets on either wide and
below to house speakers and vinyl/VHS. To top it off, when the screen is up,
there is a large piece of art on the wall. I am sure there must've been more
but I can't recall. Everything was done in redgum veneered craftwood.

Does this seem crazy money?
