Component upconversion problem

Hi

I'm having problems with the component video upconversion using an Onkyo 603. It works, sometimes, but the picture drops out when f/fwding a VCR, and some of the (analogue) foxtel channels blink/flash, but not others.

Has anyone else experienced this, or do other brands do this better?

Whats a vcr ??

Very Crap Recorder

It's some long forgotten technology invented and used during the dark
ages by the ancient ones.

It used dark magic matter to store images, using some dark invisible
magic to make the images reappear on a satanic device called a Cathode
Ray Tube. Here the great ritual where the men would dance around the
machine drinking goats blood chanting the unholy verses to awaken their
gods whom would if satisfied would let the magic VCR play the images
stored upon their dark magic vaults.

And I say verily, that is if the spawn of Satan, namely the
demi-god of the tape tracking device, was not appeased it
would inflict much wailing and the gnashing of teeth of the
people gathered, for they bemoaned the wobbly picture sent
forth.
