'COPY' playback probs LiteOn lvw 5045

I time recorded (HDD) a movie, spent a happy hour editing to remove (Hide) unwanted segments/chapters, pressed copy to DVD (DVD+R used) on the remote, copy made, went to play back in another DVD player I use for test, NO DISC it read.
OK, I eventualy worked out I hadnt finalised the DVD, put back in the LiteOn, finalised it, back to player, got thumbnail of movie on screen but I cant make it play.
I tried it in the computer, same result.
Burnt another disc as thought mabye bad or I had stuffed up.
Followed all the steps thru manual, took to player, loads, shows thumbnail but wont play.
OK, chose different brand disc, same result.
So I tried using a DVD+RW, didnt finalise it as manual says not needed and it plays in both computer and DVD player without a problem.
One thing I did notice is that it had recorded and shows ALL (hidden chapters) that was on HDD for that movie.
Total waste of time editing if its going to do that.
I even tried the 'Guider' copy option for the last DVD+R.
Obviously I am doing something wrong but cant see what.
I did exactly the above recently with another time recorded movie and made a copy and that worked ok so what the hell have I done this time that is different?
Help please?????

PS.The original movie is still on the HDD, there is nothing else recorded on it all all.

all is now working so I am not sure if it was something I was doing wrong (most likely) or the disc's were not acceptable.
I have since copied the original, then another, added one more to the HDD without touching the other two and as soon as I am allowed access to the TV etc, I will copy it.

Could be a brand of discs that it doesn't like, if you haven't already done so it would be worth updating to the latest firmware (v201)

I'll have the change log soon that specifies exactly what has been changed, I'll post details once I have it. I'm not back for another week yet, it will be after that.
