JB Mobile (optus?) promotional offer
Hi,
Have just received a telemarketing promotion from JBMobile (supposedly in sydney, and a subsidiary or associate with optus) They are offering a Nokia 6610i and what appears to be very good rates for 5 minute calls throughout australia. Does anybody know if they are legitimate, and or/any experience of this organization ? I cannot find anything out about them via Google. Otherwise could be interested in their offer, but dislike high pressure telemarketing! Thankyou in anticipation. GeoOscar |

I too have had a gut full of telemarketers.
I will tell you of my experience. I kept getting phone calls usually at tea time about 6 to 6.30pm several times a month from a mob called Trendwest who market timeshare at the Gold Coast (Bundall business centre). This had gone on for about two years or so and I can remember shortly prior to the calls commencing I received an unsolicited letter in the mail. I threw the letter in the rubbish. I received a followup phone call about a week later and I told them I threw the letter in the bin. They tried to argue the point with me and I told them I wasn't interested in any holidays (time share). I finally got sick of all the harassment and contacted Trendwest direct at Bundall. I told them if I received any more calls I would visit btheir office and disable their entire telephone network. They told me the calls enimated from the Philipines. I told them I didn't care where they came from that I would visit their office at Bundall and pointed to the fact that they would be very unhappy to see me. I also found out about the ADMA web site and registered myself on the do not contact list. A few days later I received another phone call from Trendwest this time asking to speak to my wife. I did not know it was them at first until my wife told me. I sent emails to every Trendwest contact (Aus and US) threatening retaliation. They have not contacted me or my wife since. About a month or so ago I started receiving telemarketing calls from an Asian country (possibly India) telling me I would be receiving a free Nokia mobile phone. The company was JB Mobiles. I told them I wasn't interested. Since that first contact I have received at least four follow up calls. At about 6.15pm on 28 Oct I received another telling me I was about to receive my free Nokia mobile. I told them - NO I WASN'T and hung up. This afternoon about 12.30pm I received another call from JB Mobiles. I told them quite firmly I wasn't interested and asked who the carrier was. I was told OPTUS. I told them I again wasn't intersested and the fact that I was on the ADMA do not contact list and I believed Optus were members of the ADMA. I also told them I regarded their calls as harassment and if I received any further calls I would locate the neareszt OPTUS mobile phone tower and disable it. I told them to pass the message on. I also contacted OPTUS in Australia and told them the same thing. JB Mobiles is a subsidiary company of OPTUS. You wouldn't believe this but whils't I was typing this message I received another call attempting to sell me a mobile. Again it appeared the call came from India. The company started with M. I was too annoyed to get the full details. I asked the carrier and was told it was OPTUS. I told them my story including my retialiation threat. The called agreed to contact the supervisor and have me taken off the list. THEY HAD BETTER DO SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I realise that you're frustrated, but you really ought not to make threats like that -- even if you have no intention of carrying them out. You could get yourself into quite serious trouble. |

Probably better off just to tell them to FUCK OFF! -- The views I present are my own and NOT of any organisation I belong to. 73 de Simon, VK3XEM. http://www.aca.gov.au/pls/radcom/cli...IENT_NO=157452 VoIP http://www.TALKonIP.com.au/ Domain Hosting http://www.GizNet.com/ Any information regarding Greg can be sent to intruder@vk3xem.net |
