Hamony remotes & Foxtel
Hi. I have just obtained a Harmony remote (659). I am now very confused.
Before purchasing it I had been told there had been a problem with the Harmony remotes & setting it up for Foxtel in Australia, BUT that that problem had been resolved. However, having now upgraded the remote to the latest firmware & software, it still seems unable to identify the Foxtel remote. I have a Foxtel digital box STU-100 but this doesn't appear to be in the database, nor does it register the Foxtel remote when I do a manual match. I tried contacting Harmony about this & have received no response at all. I've got a feeling the problem is that the Foxtel-Harmony mismatch has only been fixed for the later models of Harmony, but I hope not. Does somebody have an answer for me - or better yet a solution. Re: Hamony remotes & Foxtel
Hi,
I recently bought the same remote off the EBay. After doing the upgrade and selecting the Pace STB I have the remote controls Foxtel fine. Did you find the Foxtel decoder that you have in the harmony database? If so it should all work. If not I too have had some problems recording my own IR codes via the harmony website, keep getting server time out errors. Like you I have had no response from Logitech support. What I have found is that it will take some time to get the remote set the way I want it. The wizard gets about 90% right off the bat, the rest needs tweaking. Iain
Thanx for this - but I didn't select the 'Pace STB'. How did you know to do this & do I need any more detail to select the correct model? Garrett |

Re: Hamony remotes & Foxtel
I tried registering the using the Pace STB but it didn't recognise that
either and I've gone through the whole manual configuration again. Still nothing. Everything else works fine, but it simply won't work with the Foxtel box Garrett Prestage |

Re: Hamony remotes & Foxtel
Hi,
When you first get to select the devices that you have I used the "Foxtel" listing. After this it asks for the model number which in my case was DS420NF (Pace). From there it all worked fine. Maybe try starting from scratch again. Re: Hamony remotes & Foxtel
Thanx again Iain. I wasn't prompted with a list of model numbers - but I
entered the number you used & now it functions. So all is fine now. The digital remote is common over all Foxtel Digital STU's (not digital Foxtel or analogue STU's), so selecting the DS-420NF will work for all Foxtel Digital STU's (except the iQ). |
