FS: Mordaunt-Short 200 Series speakers (front, Centre & Rears)

Mordaunt Short Speakers

I purchased this matching speaker set in late 2000 and am looking at
upgrading. All speakers are as new and where made in the UK and I think
sound better than the current 900 series now manufactured in China. The
original retail price was around $3200 to $3500 for the set.

I am including the mains , centre, rears and a set of Apollo stands for the
rears. If your looking at spending up to $1000 on a new set of surround
speaker package that is good for both music and movies this should fit the
bill and will sound better than a new set in that price range. You will
still need to purchase your own subwoofer for surround sound if needed
however the main floorstanding speakers already put out a substantial amount
of base.

Below is a link to a web site with photos of the actual speakers and
original specification sheets.

I also have a spare matching centre channel that was damaged during a move
and replace with a new one, therefore if you want a 6.1 system I will
through in the spare centre which has minor cabinet damage, alternately the
drivers can always be used as spares.

Asking $950 for the complete set which is under a 3rd of what I paid.

I live in metro Sydney, I would prefer pickup, however if your prepared to
arrange a courier at your cost this is also an option.

Will consider splitting the speaker up if I can find individual buyers,
however my preference is to sell them as a matching set.

The floor standing speakers can be bi-wired if prefered and are the pick of
the set especially if you are more focused on music or don't want to be
forced to have to purchase a subwoofer for HT as well.

Selling off speakers

Will you sell the stands (for the rear speakers) in the bundle? Are the stands adjustable hight?

Re: FS: Mordaunt-Short 200 Series speakers (front, Centre & Rears)

The specification for the stands should be on the UK based Apollo web site
http://www.apollohifi.co.uk/speakersupport.htm The model number I think from
memory is A1/9 which stands approx. 915mm high, they are not adjustable in
terms of height other than adjustments on the base for leveling. The speaker
cables run up through the centre post. The height of the stands is about the
right height for use as surround speaker stands ie. above ear level when
your sitting on a sofa etc.

Yes the stands are included as part of the sale, I think they still retail
for $149, I have hardly used the stands or the Mordaunt-short rear speakers
as after a move to a new home the configuration of the room changed and I
ended up using another speaker which I wall mounted.
