6310i to 6230 CARK-91/126 adapter

Some time ago someone here posted a note about a cradle adapter that
would allow a Nokia 6320 to be used in a CARK-91 car kit and cradle
designed for a 6310/5110/6385 series Nokias.

I can't seem to find any reference to it. Doing an Ebay search has also
failed to come up with any results.

Do any of you guys know anything about this product? If so, any info
would be appreciated.

Thanks

You are after cable "CA55". But you also need the cradle and aerial adaptor.
Probably looking at about $150+. You would be better off spending more and
buying a CK-7W rather than using a kit that is past it's use by date with no
warranty.

Since posting that question, I found what I was looking for. (was a bit
more creative with my googling and Ebay searching).

There are a few adapters that slot into the existing CARK-91 cradle and
into which the newer Nokia 6320 is slotted. All are sold from
Britain/Europe. They cost between $60-70 AUD plus shipping.

A mob here in Oz has a cradle that replaces the CARK-91. Just a matter
of unplug one and plug in the other, after mounting it. That costs
around $140.

Yes, I saw one once in an Optus world shop, keep the car kit and just change
the cradle to suit the phone. Good idea if you are continually updating
phones.

In our case, it wasn't really a matter of choice. My 6385 died and Nokia
no longer sold them. So I ended up with a 2280. Meanwhile the missus had
a 6310i. It too eventually died so she got a new phone. I replaced my
kit with a CARK-126 (still got the '91 around here somewhere). But
before I lash out on $450 to replace hers, I'm trying to do it on the
cheap.

CARK-126 is obsolete, so parts will get dearer before getting cheaper. If
you are thinking of 450 you better email me, 450 is a rip off price. Europe
and England is not the only place to upgrade the 91. Just open up your eyes
and you will see at least 2 brands available here.

Is it? What's its replacement?

That is/was the average street price, fitted for that particular unit. I
could have had it fitted cheaper if I drove 2 hours to a place that I
found online.

I'v opened my eyes. Haven't found any alternatives yet. Care to name
these brands, and perhaps even a link to where I can find them?

Thanks

CK-7W 3 part kit = approx $280
Installation = $100 by a reputable & qualified installer.
