Best TV to buy around $1000??

Hi everyone

This is my first time on this phorum so please take it easy on me.

We are looking for a new tv, something around 68cm or bigger for around $1000 but have no idea where to start. We have been to a few electrical retail stores that have not really been that helpful (did not know much about their products).

Is it worth going wide screen? 50mhz or 100mhz? Other things to look out for?

We have fox digital so we are wanting to upgrade from our older Panasonic 68cm.

Thanks

If you have Fox then I would definately lean towards widescreen.

i would try places like myer and target/ kmart. these places are always having sales and i find that they are the best places to talk people down if you are paying with cash. wherever you go always ask what the best price is for cash! i recently went shopping with my other half for a tv and we got $500 knocked off the original price for it!

Welcome Gibraltar25 to the phorum.

I only have a 51cm TV, but I would say widescreen is the best way to go. I don't know much about TV's but watching a DVD on my TV dosn't do the movie justice, I think Myer might be a place for what you want.

I 'm not sure but this might belong in the TV, movie section.

Because everyone wants flat panel tv there are bargains to be had on CRT tv and you should do ok with $1000, 76cm lg for eg.
Are you in sydney? there are many factory seconds stores with full warranty on their products.
