porting number authority?
If im with say telstra, and i want to port my number to somebody else on
another carrier. Can i authorise the port(by signing release forms?) and the other party sign an application form? or does the new lessee need to be the lessee of the number to be ported as well? I can imagine this changes from company to company but a general idea would be great :) cheers rob |

Yes to the last question - the losing SP account holder needs to be the same as the gaining SP account holder, so you'll need to do a change of ownership at some stage. Doing the CHOWN before or after the port shouldn't matter too much; obviously it makes sense to process it with the SP with the cheaper CHOWN fee. Bear in mind, if you change ownership before the port, the new owner will cop any applicable termination/port-out charges. |
