Opinions on the Harman Kardon DVD22

I'm looking to upgrade my old Tosh SD-210, and am looking for a pure DVD player (no recording). I saw a HK DVD22 being sold for $329 and was very tempted but am holding back for a couple of reasons:

1. Old technology. Was released mid 2004
2. No HDMI.
3. As it's old tech. does that mean a newer model will be coming out soon (or is the DVD31 the newer model?)

Reviews have been very positive and is a great looking machine.

Would appreciate some help as I'd like to get a new player this weekend.
