Exclamation NEC NDH 80 Finalize Problem

I have recently purchased this HDD/DVD Recorder and find that both dvd-r & dvd+rw discs will not initialize. The dvd-r can be dubbed onto but can not be played in another dvd player. The menu display seems to not recogonise the discs and they canot be finialized. Both discs are diferent brands. Can anybody please suggest a fix.Discs used are Datastream dvd+rw & dvd-r Maxtech.

Does your manual mention any preffered brands of discs to use, not all brands are suitable for all recorders.

Unhappy I have the same problem

I have the same problem. My NEC NDH-80 will burn DVD's but they can't even be read on my computer! If I put it in my other DVD player, it won't eject it - I have to turn the power on & off & then it will eject it. I've tried all the different levels of density with no difference. There are not a lot of details in the manual as to dubbing, so I'm at a loss. Any ideas please?

Do you have an option to 'Finalize' or 'Make Compatible' in any of the menus on the recorder?
