Sony DVD Recorder Hard Drive Question

I have a Sony DVD Recorder with a 160 gig hard drive, its a great unit and records great, my only question is when I delete a video scene on the hard drive I get a couple of seconds of frozen picture, Is this normal for DVD Recorders with Hard drives?

No. When you delete from the HD all deleted video is gone (undo/redo) maybe a feature but not a couple of seconds of frozen picture.
Use four different brand HD recorders none of them have that problem.
