Help with Palsonic 86wshda
Could anybody possibly help me with a problem I seem to be having with my new 86cm Palsonic HDTV. I have trouble veiwing dark colours with any real clarity. I am currently running Foxtel and free to air tv through my new LG DVD recorder (RH7823W) via YPbPr inputs with progressive scan on. I have tried moving all the tv options ie, colour, brightness, contrast with not much success. I understand there may be a secret service menu I could access but I dont know how to do this. Any help or advice would be appricated. Thankyou. Daniel

Dark areas
Yeah, my LG plasma has this issue as well. I was able to get around it by using the Brightness and Colour controls and then getting into the service menu to adjust some of the white offsets. Also LG has a new 'Engine' called XD which is used to make analogue signals look more digital... interesting. I found that all the colours close to black went to balck, maying much of the delicate information in the picture disappear. I cant see anything on Google for Palsonic Service menu, sorry.
Try playing with the contrast and Brightness in different combinations, i know with mine the contast does not act the way i expected it to. Also, try going straight from your source to your Display, and try differnet signal types (S-Vid, Composite, etc). I saw Fox Digital on my Brother-In-Law's Sony Plasma and it looked terrible, could be a poor signal...
