Unhappy Problem playing a DVD

Hi

I've had no problems with my Magnavox MDVD-100 until recently when I purchased a DVD over the internet to find that it will not be played. When I insert the dvd it won't play, at most it will show the menu page and freeze.

Anyone have any idea why this may be?

Since the DVD package purchased came with 2 dvd's and both encounter the same problem, I can only assume that this problem is to do with the player.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This may sound obvious but does your dvd player support NTSC? Is the disc in NTSC?
