LG DVD/VCR comb V824W

LG DVD/VCR comb V8824W

In the dvd setup option progressive scan was chosen.
Now nothing can be viewed in dvd mode just a blank black screen
We cant see to change the menu options
Please someone tell us what to do

I did this once to my V8824W (before I traded it in).

The DVD player was configured to "output" progressive scan.
The television was not progressive scan capable (hence the black screen when viewing DVD mode)

The solution is in the manual somewhere (nope, I can't remember).
Probably around the bit about progressive scan.
Those folks LG knew people would do this by mistake so fix a in the manual.
Come on ya can do it - just turn those pages.....

Yep, the LG website has the manual to download I think.

I'm sure I remember reading about a problem similar to this before.

Maybe try switching cables. To be using progressive scan, I assume you are using component cables.Try unplugging them and putting in a composite cable, this might give you a picture.

I have no idea if this will make a difference or not, and I may be barking up completely the wrong tree, in the wrong forest, possibly on another planet.

Take out disc
wait for no disc display
hold stop button for 5 secs
how simple
