Common DVD formats

I've got a question

What are the most sommon formats a DVD (not a Pc one) player supports?

I want to rip DVDs to my computer and burn them back to normal CDs in a format/s commonly supported by DVD players so I can carry them with me wherever I Go.

I know supports mp4 but what other formats are playable by the average DVD player?

DVD, VCD and SVCD only on a "normal" DVD player (some don't do SVCD either).
But if you want info on this, you are better off at www.videohelp.com

you realise DVD's are the same size as CD's, therefor wherever you can carry CD's, DVD's can go?
