chipset used in Conia MR910D DVD recorder ?
Anyone know what chipset it uses ?
The DVD interface is driven by a Philips 7860 chipset , but there is a heatsink on the codec chip , so I cant see what it is. The unit does + and - format , and has rudimentary DiVX playback , but not as good as my LG 8900P . So far it does what I want , mainly to convert tapes to DVD , then rip and edit on a PC. There is no fan in the unit , and a lot of vents in the case , so I will have to see how it handles dust long term. It looks like it is made by http://www.szmtc.com.cn , and is a DR5101 model according to the PWB inside The loader looks like a cosmic DL6601A , these any good ? I have found another reference to a player that looks the same.. http://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/...1001497136.htm this mentions a LSI chipset.. but no model.. The unit cost me $188 from JB so , is it a POS ? or a "value" player ? |

I have this model and so far pretty happy with it. This is my first dvd recorder so can't compare to anything else.
Did have some trouble with editing dvds, think I have that one sorted out now. The only problem I seem to be having now is the dvds that I've recorded coming out with CRC(unreadable errors) on them. Is there anyway to fix/stop this they are quite playable. |
