I for one don't like selling to friends.

You shouldn't be selling to you friends, you should be telling them about this offer!!

While marketing is up to you, we have a few suggestions...

1. Local businesses as a monthly sales promotion ( Kind of like the 'Bookman' does.

2. Local Pubs and clubs as a service to thir patrons or regulars.

3. Your own workplace - you might even want to start a DVD Rental Club at work.

4. Your neighbors with that new DVD Player.

There are hundreds of ways to sell DVD's but from experience, wouldn't you rather buy from someone that's going to help you find that obscure DVD or give you bargain DVD's every month rather than someone just ringing up the sale from a faceless corporation!

The reason we started DVDOG is that we were tired of listening to sales people blather on about nothing.

We want straight talking, straight dealing and a better price.
We know that the ony person who can do this right is YOU...the expert.

If people are buying from another person they are not looking for retail prices. And if they are buying retail I am sure they'd rather buy from a store and not from me or another member as warranty is always anyones concern, and I am sure people would trust a company more than a user. Do K-Mart and other retail stores make you money when you purchase from them and do they give you direct specials every month.

By buying from DVDOG you are helping the smaller distributors and your helping yourself.

If you want to get cheaper DVD's now rather than when the big chain stores have their sales, all you have to do is sell as many as you want when you want and then you have your discount.

Also, what about those DVD lovers that don't live near one of these big retailers, this way they can get their DVD's at the price they want and they help people in their community do the same.

When it comes to warranty, how fast and eager are most big retailers to help you out?
They still buy it from a distributor who gets it from the film companies.

We are ordering every 2 weeks and are in constant contact with the film companies with updates and new releases.

With DVDOG we are a smaller company that looks after our customers because you are our life, without our customers we are nothing.

What about the first time you ordered those DVD's from the US....

In a way, yes. Buy buying most of my dvd's at K-mart which have everyday (not just sale prices) prices lower than yours, I'm saving myself at least $2 on any title you mentioned.
You didn't mention in your posts exactly how much commision selling dvd's for you makes, but I'm sure that I could save money buying elsewhere.

In both cases (2) I've had to return a dvd due to warrenty, I've had no problems whatsoever, and the 20 mins it took was a lot quicker than posting them off and waiting for new ones.

That isn't a concern for me, and it doesn't really factor in to this conversation either, as it doesn't appear that you sell R1's.

In closing, sorry to rain on your parade, but all the titles you are selling can be sourced elsewhere a lot cheaper. I'm sure you will have some interest from remote area's like you said, but with most cities having a K-mart, Target, Big-W, or JB-HiFi, it's just easier buying from them and getting the dvd's you want for cheaper prices rather than wait for the post just to save 5% (?)on the prices you offer.

It's about sharing the wealth and giving ordinary Australian's a cut of the DVD pie.

Maybe this isn't for you, but there are a lot of people out there that want to make a bit of money on the side at something they know and love.

I'm sure a lot of people would love to open their own DVD store but don't want the hassle and cost involved.

Regarding the warranty on my first shipping from USA.

I used a respectable company. I have only had one problem with an international order, where an incorrect disc was in a sealed dvd. Not the sellers fault, but rather the distributor. The online store fixed it, and sent a replacement before I returned their disc.

So yeah, I do trust on line stores over an individual..

So whats the cut on DVD selling. Similar to AMWAY... or that company mentioned in GO...
