Yeah I've never heard of it either... if all you want to do is run EvolutionX and back up games (that you own!) etc any 256k cheapmod chip will do, as long as the bios is flashable. The Alladin Advance is one of the better ones. You should be looking to pay around $120 or so to have a 256k chip supplied and installed, and HDD installed if you supply it. Make sure that whatever chip you get is flashed with the x2.4977 or M7 bios.

Look around for a chip supplier and installer that offers a warranty - I offer 12 months on everything I do. Unfortunately I'm at the other end of the country so not much use with the installation, but if you need more advice don't hesitate to ask.

xbox

The XALX2+ is one of the newest chips on the market it has all the features. It has undergone a series of tests and it has received the best out of all the popular chips.

xbox

ALX2+ is nothing special, it will only take a 256K Bios and so will the Alladin Advance 32/64 (not very future proof). I have the 1 Megabyte Akira modchips for just $60 retail www.akirachip.com
