Update on AV Sender so I can watch Foxtel on second T.V. using one set top box

Hi there,

Just an update from my recent post - I have purchased an AV sender so I can
watch my Foxtel in both the bedroom and kitchen from the one set top box in
bedroom. The WVS10 AV Sender with remote control extender is available from
www.eon3.com.au - for $99.00 or the AR1830 for $139.00 from Jaycar
www.jaycar.com.au They look absolutely identical and both have the remote
control extender so you can use the original remote in the second location
to change channels.

It took 5 minutes to set up and works like an absolute charm!!! Yahoo.

I had a couple of hurdles at first but not with the AV Sender. I used the
Video and Audio out plugs on the Foxtel STB in the bedroom. But my T.V. in
the kitchen is an old TEAC TV/VCR combo and only has a RF connector on the
T.V., and has Audio In/Out plugs on the VCR part but the Video in/Out plugs
are BNC - so I had to purchase a BNC to RCA convertor for the Video In.

I then hooked the TEAC TV/VCR up to the AV Receiver and pressed T.V./VCR
button on the T.V. until I had a blank screen (I think this is the
equivalent to AV channel). I did not have to tune anything in. (I was told
that if I had to use the RF input on the T.V. with an RF modulator I would
have had to tune the T.V. in for a channel).

Everything works fine and I can use my Foxtel remote control in the kitchen.
I also turned off the T.V. in the bedroom and the kitchen T.V. still works
without any problems.

I have an air-conditioner going in lounge plus a Widescreen T.V. with a
separate Foxtel set-top box). Also microwave plugged in, in the kitchen.
Tried using it for 1 minute. No interference anywhere in the house between
anything.

I have a brick house (most walls are double brick I think) and the house is
probably around 10-15 metres long.

I've just set it up to watch foxtel, and the foxtel remote doesn't get to the
Foxtel box.

All my other IR controls work through it, just not the Foxtel one.

Any ideas ?
