Sydney Seven News not Widescreen

With much ballyhoo Ch 7 Sydney has brought in Ian Ross (previously with
Nine) to read the 6pm news. You might have imagined that they would support
the investment by transmitting the digital news in widescreen like all the
other Sydney FTA channels do. But no. The graphics behind Ian show images
on widescreens presumably to delude those who don't have widescreen TV's
that the transmission is WS.

Why doesn't 7 transmit its flagship news in WS?

I think the question you're after is why doesn't channel 7 transmit
ANYTHING in WS?

They have just announced that the Australian Open won't be in WS next
year. Not to mention Davis Cup, Melbourne Cup, the list goes on..

Channel $toke's is still too busy trying to work out how to merge two of
their old 4:3 camera's together so they can save some money on buying
16:9 cameras. Tight as a fish a..hole is channel $even.
