Wink XMS-888 and DivX

TrendSetters
Today I produced my first DivX disc using the Vidomi encoder/player. It plays fine on the XMS-888. A 50 minuite Foxtel docco on a 700mb CD displaying DVD quality video is awesome

Question: When I insert the DivX disc into the XMS-888 it reads it then displays SmartNav, whereupon I select the avi file and press Enter on the remote. Is there anyway to automate this action...In other words, insert the disc and have it autoplay from the first avi (DivX) file

Thanks in advance

Moved to DivX section.
BTW, I don't think you can, maybe if you went into the Setup Menu and turned off the Smart-Navi option....
But I think that would be more trouble than just selecting the file.

Interesting, I had looked at Vidomi, but never tried it. I like the encode with multiple pc's (networked) option, could speed things up a little for those of us with more than 1 pc in the home
BTW, andw's suggestion works, I'd tried it before. Go to PREFERENCES / SMARTNAVI in the SETUP menu and select NO MENU. The only hitch is, you still have to press play to start the file, no auto-start like DVD's (the blank XMS screen stares you in the face till you do something).

Thanks bwg for your reply.

The Vidomi Encoder is worth a look. Got a lot of nice bells and whistles considering it is freeware. However, the latest version is flakey on WinXP.
I had read on DVDHelp.com to try an earlier version, so I downloaded Ver 0.429 from www.vidomi.com, and it has been bullet-proof so far. I actually prefer it to the very latest version, as the GUI is much cleaner.
