Philips DVD Player Help ?
i have been looking around for the right DVD player. I came across the PHILIPS 729K DVD PLAYER (INFO AVALIABLE FROM WWW.PHILIPS.COM. The dvd player features many features such as DVD/VCD/SVCD/CDR-CDRW/MP3 with dual laser pickup.
I was just wandering if my burnt VCD's and Mp3's would work on this Philips DVD Player Since many dvd owners have problems reading cdr discs even if the dvd player itself is compatible. I use Laser, Princo, Mr data and TDK cd's with my VCD's Could anybody out there who know it works or owns a Philips DVD player help me out and reply. thank you |

im new to this forum and i know this message is old but thought i'd help. i own a 729K and yes it does play both VCD's and SVCD's. in VCD format my player supports perfectly those discs recorded up to 2100kbps as the bitrate. standard VCD of 1150 or so obviously plays perfectly and as with SVCD not sure on the bitrate but i know it does play them.

just to add, MP3's play fine as well i use TDK an there is no problem and i have played VCDs recorded on Princo and Mr.Data and they seem to be fine, however top quality video requires better quality discs, the cheaper the disc the sh*tter it will play
