NeuNeo player
Is there any reason to wait for another player? This one seems like it does everything! It uses the latest chip right?
http://www.neodigits.com/shtmls/divxdvd/ Any bad comments on this player? As far as i know there are none. |

My only concern with that is that it comes from o/seas, and therefore any warranty issues might be a problem (i.e. getting it back, not that they won't do it)
I believe that 'chuna' is bringing some into Australia (http://forums.eyo.com.au/showthread....243#post415243) that look like the same unit rebadged (http://www.zensonic.com/). Not sure what warranty conditions are on that either, perhaps he can tell you. Otherwise Strathfield's Trio DX-628 (http://www.triocorp.com.au/DX-628.aspx) is based on the same chip (although more expensive - easy to take back for warranty). The only issue you may find with the neodigits, and others based on this chipset, is they don't as yet have subtitle support for avi files. (although it may well be coming soon). |

It does look quite similar to be rebadged...

Neuneo is also an OEM just like Zensonic from the same factory in China. The difference being we will have a bit more info in our manuals. And our Zensonic will have a 1 Year warranty and customers and resellers who have bought from us will know the kind of service we offer. In addition we will also have all the parts and will also service the units locally. Our swap policies have always been between 24 to 48 hrs as with all products we sell.
ANd while you are in the EYO forums, this very unit will be available from Eyo and you will need to ask them what they will sell it for or maybe email them to put a pre-order in as they have placed a pre-order with us. So your best bet is to check with Eyo and get your pre orders in as they have pre sold quite a bit since our announcement. I am pretty sure Neuneo only offers a 30 or 90 day warranty. Not sure to be honest. You will have to check with them. Last edited by chuna; 27-03-2004 at 03:43 PM.. |

If it comes down to the choice of these two units then I would suggest that you put your money with either chuna or eyo, at least you will have local support. If something went wrong with the other one you have the hassle of dealing with someone that's not even in the country, the few dollars you might save will be long forgotten by then I would think. $159 is a good price anyway, particularly for an MTK based player.

Well if you think it is vapoware then you are not obligated to buy or pre order are you? All I am saying is is it worth spending US$120 for Neuneo with a 90 day warranty and bringing them in from the U.S or to wait till May to get a local 1 year warranty and probably $100 cheaper by the time you account for freight.
No one is forcing you or ramming up your throat to buy the product. This is a free country, if you want to pre order or buy it, then do it, if you dont you dont have to. Simple as that. I was simply informing the community that the product will be available Mid May. People who want to wait for it can wait till Mid May to buy it, no need to plonk any money down until the unit is available. A Pre-order does not mean you have to pay for it now either unless of course you dont know what it means. The OCAU and the Whirlpool community knows I have done for the community, in that bring in affordable products to the market without ripping people off. I am not here to to try and make a quick sale and that is not my intention. Since we are in the EYO forums, Eyo themselves will be carrying this product. So davidf, if you think it is vaporware, so be it. Doesnt bother me one bit. We just have to wait till Mid May now wont we. Till then feel free to call it Vaporware. |

I myself don't see any problem with this thread, 'Endo' pointed to a player that can be bought o/seas. I myself pointed out that 'chuna' is bringing what looks like the same player into the country, and therefore if Endo was interested in waiting, he would be more likely to get local support and possibly a better warranty with a 'local' purchase.
I then invited chuna to comment on what warranty arrangements etc there would be. 'Chuna' did not start this thread, and was responding to questions by legitimate potential buyers. No different than any other supplier saying 'we will be having a new player coming in the next month or so.' |

I think vaporware is a bit harsh, all chuna is doing is letting those that are interested know that there will be a player available in about 6 weeks that will be at a good price and some people may want to wait to pick one up then, rather than deal with someone in another country. He already stated that it will be available through EYO, it doesn't hurt to support the site owners either
If he never delivers then feel free to call it vaporware, I don't see that he deserves to be accused of anything. Read through the thread again, endo asked if it was worth waiting for something else, andw pointed out that something was coming and the reasons that it might be worth waiting, endo decided that he didn't mind waiting. Chuna suggested that he might wish to pre order from EYO, as they had done from him, he wasn't asking for the sale directly. Neither andw or myself have any commercial interest in whether or not endo buys a player from EYO or chuna, but I can still see that it would be a good deal based on what else is in the market at the moment, I think if you were to ask andw that he was merely pointing something out to someone in an effort to be helpful, I think if you would like to go through all of andw's posts you will see that the majority of what he posts is an effort to help others. |

Davidf has a valid point
This thread started out as an inquiry for the NeuNeo model and has turned into an advertorial for the rebranded Zensonic Much the same now also applies to the thread under "What r available now" Think the threads need to refocus back on the Mpeg4 format Captnk |

Anyway...
Seems like the zensonic player is an exact replica of the neuneo player. in which case i will wait till it comes out in a month or two and purchase the player instead. Thanks for those who posted useful replies. |

Good result in the end eh! Waiting can never hurt, I wish I was more patient with stuff, would save me a packet.
