I know about 6 people with X-Boxes,
4 with PS2's,
and 2 with Gamecubes.

Another person I know has owned all three consoles in the past 6 months.

He bought a PS2 with a few games, got bored with it pretty quick (he was not a fan of it's graphics either). Then traded it in and got a Gamecube and a couple of games. Didn't enjoy that much either, I think probably a mixture of a crappy controller and kiddish games (Luigi's Mansion - PLEASE?!!). Eventually traded in and got an X-Box and has never looked back.

Nah Nintendo have a strong foundation, Microsoft are all smoke and mirrors so I say no people TRUST Nintendo in a way they could never trust someone like, Mr Microsoft (lol, I make myself laugh at that!)

Agreed.

I don't think there's room for three consoles in this business. Just look at Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. They got outed in no time when put up against Playstation and N64.

Nintendo may have a strong foundation and history with home consoles, but Sony have established themselves very quickly, basically taking over Sega's role as it's direct competition.

As for the X-Box, time will tell as whether or not it beats Nintendo, making future releases a Sony VS Microsoft battlefield.

Mac, Sony is laughed at by Microsoft AND Nintendo, they both know Sony's out of the console wars.

Of course Microsoft is going to continue with PCs I don't like having words being put into my mouth it makes me angry - so you have been warned and it's not often I bother to give warnings. Regie, if you were to take such an angle in replies, you'd be on the right path to getting yourself banned from these forums.

Also, whether you noticed it or not, there seems to be a lingering sense of sarcasm in craptest's post. Don't take everything so seriously.

Hi,

I don't own a console all I can go buy is what I have heard and read.

I heard lots of fuss regarding PS1 then PS2 then XBox but not a hell of a lot regarding Gamecube.

I heard it was doing well in Japan so I voted for yes in Aus. It can be succesfull but they really restricted themself with lack of DVD support. Also do they have net access or can it be upgraded?

I hear this is the next big thing though it hasn't happened yet. If nintendo don't all access to it they will probably lose IMHO. Unfortunatly this will only reduce choice for the consumer

Sony are not outta the console wars, they have begun developing the Playstation 3. I cant remember its code name atm.

I'm not really sure, but I can definately see ps2/XB outlasting the GC in terms of support, more due to the fact that M$ and Sony can throw as much money as need be at their product so people will buy it (hell, we see PS2 ads at the cinemas and everywhere else we look), and it seems to have been proven in the past that it's quantity that sells, not just quality.

Basically, they'll all die sooner or later. GC sooner, the other two later.

Oh, and I blame the failure of the Dreamcast here on Ozisoft.

Ah well... I don't really care. I don't have the money to spare to buy a console and a steady flow of games

Sony dont need to be apart of the console wars, but they choose to be. There is money to be made but there is too much competition for any of the major consoles to take the majority since all everyone's products are similar.
