Dvd reading issue

Hey guys,

I have a problem with reading dvds on both dvdx2 and xbmc (got a samsung drive). They read for like 2 sec and freeze for 5. Has anyone else had this problem (i know its most like dvd rom but could it be something else).

Also, I tried ripping a vob file using dvd2xbox just to test out if it is the dvd drive. And i cant get it to play. Any ideas?

Thanks

what speed did you burn it at? Try burning @ 2x if you can, although you have a samsung drive, you shouldn't have any problems.

All else fails, do what michael said, upgrade your software, theres a new evox and xbmc too.

Are you talking about commercial dvd's? I know that the earleir versions of xbmc i found were somewhat picky at what they played.

You might want to think about updating your software. If you are not sure how to do it the slayers 2.6 auto installer has come out. It has all the new software as of 1 September. Just burn iso onto disc and put it in the dvd drive and reboot. there are plenty of tutorials so just have a look around.
